Corporate Social Activities

The Best CSR Bank brand has always been a great competitive advantage of LienVietPostBank, which impressed and drew the attention and encouragement of domestic organizations, enterprises and Vietnamese citizens. This is the motivation for better responsibility of each employee of the Bank in the effort to strengthen and promote the prosperity of Vietnam. From 2008 to 2017, LienVietPostBank and its founders contributed approximately USD (135 million) to the community and society through social activities. The funds aredivided into 4 main sectors:

• Education (55%)
• Poverty alleviation (30%)
• Culture and Sports (10%)
• Healthcare (5%)

Notable programs are:
Sponsoring school construction (2016):LienVietPostBank inaugurated many schools which had previously been sponsored for construction by the Bank in many provices. The inauguration and new construction of schools in 2016 reassured the reputation of LienVietPostBank and Him Lam Corporation (the Bank’s founding shareholder) as the leading companies in sponsoring school construction in Vietnam.

Hanoi High Tech and Digestive Center project (2016): LienVietPostBank sponsored more than VND 146 billion to support the project Hanoi High Tech and Digestive Center. This is the first Center in Hanoi that meets up with international standards with 12 clinics, 10 patient rooms and 3 surgery rooms, equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities.

Study and Talent Encouragement Funds (2016): 11 Intellectual Talent Encouragement Funds were sponsored by LienVietPostBank via scholarship programs and education promotion funds in coordination with universities and local authorities. Approximately 6,000 students were supported by these funds. Moreover, LienVietPostBank and its founders sponsored for many schools in over 20 provinces in Vietnam and built more than 100 national standard schools across Vietnam.

“VND 1,000 Billion Trillion Going Home” program(2013): Kicked off in 2008, the program coordinated with “Vietnamese heart” fund of the Vietnam Television (VTV) to become the program “VND 1,000 billion Trillion Going home” with a view to supporting and funding for the poor and people in difficult regions throughout the country. After 5 years, the total funding value for social activities in “Going home” program reached over VND 700 billion (about USD 34 million). Thousands of individuals, households and many difficult regions have been supported.

Sport sponsorship (2011-2012): The LienVietPostBank’s Volleyball Cup was successfully organized through the coordination between LienVietPostBank, the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam and Bac Ninh Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism. Besides, LienVietPostBank was the major sponsor for Vietnam sport team at SEA Games 25 and 26.

Fund for the poor: LienVietPostBank funded over VND 40 billion (about USD 1.9 million) for the poor not only in Vietnam but also in the neighbor country - Laos to eradicate hunger and alleviate poverty.

Xin Man district development project (2010-2020):LienVietPostBank and Him Lam Corporation established Xin Man Development Company to solely dedicate to project in helping Xin Man district, Ha Giang province (one of the poorest districts in Northern Vietnam). Up to 2016, LienVietPostBank funded approximately VND 100 billion (nearly USD 5 million) for many projects related to public transportation infrastructure, healthcare and education; supported about 65,000 people in the district to make their living and strengthen trade exchange for Xin Man district.”

• "Tam Nong” program (2010): the Bank introduced this program to which helps reduce lending rates for individuals and enterprises operating in agricultural and rural areas.

Besides, the Bank has committed itself to international standards and norms in corporate social responsibility as those set by Global Compact Network Vietnam (GCNV) and International Finance Corporation (IFC).
